About the role

We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our team. This is a hands on leadership role responsible for the full spectrum of financial operations across our Japan entity and regional subsidiaries. You will be based in Kuala Lumpur to start, working closely with senior leadership across markets, before relocating to Japan as the role and business scales. This gives you time to fully ramp up within the group before the move.

Key responsibilities

Oversee full financial operations including month end closing, consolidation, cash flow management and financial reporting

Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes across the Japan entity

Ensure compliance with local Japanese accounting standards and tax regulations

Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, banks and regulatory bodies

Partner with business units across Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and China on financial matters

Prepare management accounts, board reports and financial analysis for senior leadership

Drive process improvement and automation across finance operations

Support cross border financial planning and intercompany transactions

Manage and develop a small finance team as the business scales

About you

Bachelor's degree or above

CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification

3 years and above of experience in finance, accounting or financial management roles

Strong knowledge of financial reporting, FP&A, controllership and multi entity consolidation

Experience working in or with international markets, APAC exposure preferred

Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin

Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail

Experience in technology, SaaS, digital platforms or fintech environments (preferred)

Prior exposure to Japanese accounting standards (J GAAP) or IFRS (preferred)

Experience managing cross border financials across multiple currencies (preferred)
