The Role: HR Driver
At Sadleirs, our drivers are essential. Especially in this role! You will be required to deliver product around the Perth metro area.
Your responsibilities will include:
The safe transport and loading of goods ensuring all relevant requirements are met including strapping down of load, correct loading procedures and manual handling techniques
Ensuring that pre-start safety checks are completed on the vehicle and if required complete or organise maintenance or repairs
Being responsible for all con notes having the correct weight, cubic, dated, driver number pallet & Dangerous Goods information
Responsibility for the proper collection, processing and handling of freight con-notes and other freight documentation including, but not limited to, Pallet, load sheets, timesheets and daily run sheets
From time to time, you may be requested to deliver insulation batts to metro construction sites
Adequately following all requirements in displaying correct signage and completing Dangerous Goods paperwork
Inspecting loads for damage or issues, report problems and offer suggestions or solutions
Complying with pallet management and control procedures
Communicating with forklift operators, fleet controllers and transport managers from Sadleirs Logistics and other terminals to ensure correct freight is collected and loaded safely
Following correct manual handling techniques and ensure seating is ergonomic and comfortable
To actively promote positive cultural behaviours and attitudes in support of company ethos
Skills, licences & experience required for the position
Valid Australian HR Driver’s Licence
At least 1 year of experience is required
Strong understanding of Load Restraint and Fatigue Management
Dangerous Goods Licence highly advantageous
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and more importantly a fantastic, can-do attitude; and
