About the company/role:

• Dairy manufacturing company
• Seeking a Technical Assistant to join the team on a maternity leave cover
• Based in the Southern suburbs of Perth
• Entry level role - full training provided
• 9-month casual contract, with potential to extend. Full time hours.
• 3-week rotational roster:

Week 1: 5am - 12.36pm (Mon-Fri)
Week 2: 5am - 12.36pm (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat)
Week 3: 12.30pm - 8.06pm (Mon-Fri)

Duties, but not limited to:

• Routine swabbing of production areas - food and non-food contact surfaces
• Basic lab analysis of samples using in-house instrumentation
• Prepare samples to be sent for external testing
• Prepare laboratory reagents
• Aid in production with labelling and collecting samples
• GMP inspections and checking CCPs
• General housekeeping

Skills/experience:

• Bachelor of Science majoring in Food Science, Microbiology or similar
• Understanding of GMP and HACCP
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• High attention to detail and eager to learn
