Voyages Tourism Australia offers experience-based holidays in spectacular wilderness locations, including Ayers Rock Resort in the iconic Red Centre and tourism facilities in Mossman Gorge, located in tropical Queensland.
This role is located at our office in Sydney, which serves as a central hub, providing support to our operational teams based in our two locations, and requires travel time to time to Adelaide Head Office and Ayers Rock Resort.
We are seeking an accounting professional with critical thinking & problem-solving skills, a keen eye for detail, process and deadline driven and commercial mindset to join our Finance Team as Senior Corporate Accountant. This role will see you be responsible for all aspects of the financial accounting and business partnering for corporate including: regularly review of the data from the financial systems to provide timely and accurate financial results and work with corporate department leads for preparation of budgets/forecasts and monthly performance reporting. You will have previous experience in mentoring and coaching team members.
Key duties:
- Preparing, reviewing and collaborating monthly on activities related to the finance and accounting function with additional requirements for end of financial year.
- Partner with business stakeholders preparing timely, accurate and insightful information for effective business management and decision making. This includes annual budget/quarterly forecasts and monthly performance reporting for corporate.
- Responsible for month end processes for a number of business units including journal posting, provision of financial analysis/insights and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
To be successful for this role you will have:
- CA/CPA Qualified with 5+ years’ experience in accounting.
- Bachelor's degree of Accounting or similar field.
- Comfortable operating in a multisystem environment.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel for data analysis, process improvement and efficiency.
- Experience within “Business Central” (BC) accounting systems, Workday, Opera, Rezdy, Power BI and Materials Control.
- A background in tourism and hotel/hospitality operations is well regarded but not essential.
