The Organisation

The Tiwi Islands Training and Employment Board (TITEB) is a Tiwi governed, not for profit organisation established to deliver employment, training and education outcomes for the Tiwi Islands communities. Since its establishment by the Tiwi Land Council, TITEB has played a central role in building local workforce capacity and creating pathways into meaningful and sustainable employment.

TITEB is the primary provider of employment, training and allied education services across the Tiwi Islands, delivering a range of integrated programs including Group Training (GTO), Registered Training (RTO), Remote Australia Employment Services (RAES) and Tiwi School Support Services (TSSS). These programs are designed to support individuals at all stages of their journey, from school engagement through to vocational training, apprenticeships and long-term employment.

With a strong focus on community led outcomes, TITEB works closely with local employers, training organisations and community stakeholders to ensure services are culturally appropriate, practical and aligned to the needs of the Tiwi people. The organisation is committed to increasing participation, improving completion rates, and supporting the development of a skilled and sustainable local workforce.

The Opportunity

This role is ideal for a motivated and confident Trainer & Assessor who thrives working independently, takes initiative and enjoys building strong community connections while delivering high-quality training outcomes.

We are seeking an experienced and community-focused Trainer & Assessor to deliver nationally accredited vocational training and Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) programs.

Working closely with the RTO Manager, SEE Coordinator and local stakeholders, you'll deliver engaging training and assessment, support learner success and help establish a thriving training hub within the community.

Key responsibilities include:

Delivering accredited training and assessment in accordance with current RTO Standards

Facilitating SEE training programs and supporting participant progression

Conducting student enrolments, LLN assessments, USI verification and compliance processes

Monitoring learner attendance, engagement and completion outcomes

Developing and improving learning resources, assessment tools and training materials

Maintaining accurate reporting and student records across training and Workforce Australia systems

Providing mentoring, guidance and support to participants and employers

Participating in quality assurance, validation and continuous improvement activities

Promoting training opportunities across the community and with local employers

About You

You’ll bring…

TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent), or a higher-level qualification in adult education

Demonstrated experience delivering vocational education and training programs

Current industry knowledge and commitment to ongoing professional development

Experience supporting adult learners, particularly those with English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D)

Strong capability working with learners who have varying literacy and numeracy levels

Ability to adapt training to suit diverse learner needs

Confidence, initiative and the ability to work autonomously and self-manage

Strong leadership, problem-solving and priority management skills

Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills

The ability to motivate learners, improve attendance and create positive training environments

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Proficiency across Microsoft Office and digital learning or student management systems

A current driver's licence

The willingness and capability to live and work in a remote community environment

Highly regarded:

Experience delivering Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) programs

Experience within Workforce Australia funded programs

Current First Aid Certificate

Experience with RTO student management or learning management systems
