We currently have an opportunity available for a capable and experienced labourer for work with road works team based at Murrurundi.

Commencing immediately, this role will involve working full time hours for an initial period of 3 months with potential for further work depending on satisfactory performance and operational needs. An attractive hourly pay rate is being offered.

Duties will include a range of tasks to support the maintenance and/or construction of road pavements and drainage systems; and establishment and maintenance of roadside fixtures and signage. Works will include minor and heavy patching, repairs of guardrail and safety barriers, installation of signage, removal of vegetation, clearing of rubbish and other similar tasks to look after the state highway network throughout the Murrurundi region.

Applicants must hold a current driver licence and white card, and be fit for manual work tasks. Previous experience operating small plant items would be an advantage. Our ideal applicants will have previous labouring experience or machine operating/truck driving experience within the area of road works or civil works contracts.

Successful Applicants will need;

Current WHS White Card

Worker On Foot card - or willingness to obtain prior to start of work (online link able to be provided for successful applicant)

Unrestricted driver licence

Traffic control card/experience preferred

good all round fitness for manual work tasks

previous experience with road construction or maintenance will be highly regarded

Applicants will need to be fit for physically demanding work, and be a genuine team player.
