Lead the planning strategy for one of Australia’s most recognised and successful retail brands.

An exceptional opportunity exists for an experienced Merchandise Planner to join a highly successful, design-led retail business with a strong global presence.

This is a business renowned for innovation, creativity and commercial success. Working within a fast-paced, collaborative environment, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales, profit and inventory performance across a key merchandise portfolio.

The Role

Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering merchandise financial plans that maximise sales, profit and stock productivity.

Key responsibilities include:

· Develop seasonal merchandise plans and budgets

· Forecast sales, gross profit and inventory performance

· Analyse trading results and identify commercial opportunities

· Manage Open-to-Buy and stock investment

· Review and reforecast weekly and monthly performance

· Recommend markdown and promotional strategies

· Partner closely with Buying teams to build commercially successful ranges

· Monitor key performance indicators including sell through, stock turn, margin and GMROI

· Prepare detailed reporting and recommendations for senior leadership

· Identify risks and opportunities and implement corrective action

· Mentor and support Planning Analysts where required

About You

To be successful you will ideally possess:

· Previous experience as a Merchandise Planner within retail

· Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability

· Advanced Excel skills

· Experience working with planning systems

· Excellent forecasting and inventory management skills

· Ability to influence stakeholders through data and commercial insight

· Strong communication and presentation skills

· Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment

Experience within apparel, accessories, footwear, children’s products, general merchandise or specialty retail will be highly regarded.
