Awning Republic are a bespoke and leading manufacturer of Umbrellas, Awnings and Blinds and have been operating for over 15 years in Perth WA. Most of our products are made to custom sizes requiring attention to detail and providing an interesting and a varied work load.

We require a dedicated member of staff to fabricate our fabric canopies which include umbrella canopies, awning covers and blind screens. You will be required to cut, sew and fabricate, using industrial sewing machines and cutting equipment. The role also involves fabric welding of tapes and seams using high frequency and wedge welders.

Sewing experience is essential however training is provided on each product and how they are manufactured.

Fabric welding training will be provided although previous experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities include:

FABRIC HANDLING: Lifting, moving and organising of fabric stock

SEWING: High quality industrial sewing and finishing.

FABRICATION: Accurately interpreting measurements and fabricating to custom sizes.

WORKLOAD MANAGEMENT: Meeting dealines and organising work accordingly from order to completion

Requirements:

Proficiency in cutting, sewing and material fabrication.

Excellent fitness, being able move efficiently around work benches and handle heavy fabrics.

Excellent attention to detail, being able to accurately follow pattern drawings and understand tape measurements

You should be capable of working well with others, have a positive attitude to your work and fellow employees and be able to manage your own time without constant supervision.
