Are you interested in new and exciting drilling technology? Aziwell Australia is currently expanding and on the look out for our next group of Trainee Directional Drilling Technicians to join our team to help us lead the market in Directional Coring Operations in Australia.

Position Description

Our goal is to develop you into a reliable field technician capable of supporting the company’s operational activities.

As part of this role, you will be trained to deliver our full range of field services, including:

• Operating directional core drilling systems, borehole survey instruments, and associated software

• Assisting with borehole planning

• Working as a drill site technician during directional drilling operations

This role follows a rotational roster, typically 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off, and requires a willingness to travel and work in remote locations.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking candidates with strong practical and mechanical skills. Previous experience in Diamond Drilling or Directional Drilling operations will be considered highly advantageous.

Experience working away from home and the ability to work in remote environments is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

Diamond Drilling (especially in mineral mining)

Directional Drilling

Geotechnical drilling

Infrastructure drilling

Candidates without drilling experience will also be considered if they have a strong mechanical background, along with excellent problem-solving, communication, and troubleshooting skills.

Key Requirements

• Positive attitude and strong communication skills

• Ability to work in harsh and physically demanding environments

• Strong problem-solving ability and the capacity to work under pressure

• Good physical fitness

• Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word

• Experience with 3D modelling software such as AutoCAD would be highly regarded

As a Trainee, you must demonstrate a strong willingness to learn, follow direction from a Senior Technician, and adhere to all mine site safety requirements and state WHS legislation.
