Maintenance Fitter – Heavy Plant & Fleet
Darwin | Monday–Friday 7:00am–4:00pm | Saturday 7:00am–1:00pm

About the Role
A well-established organisation is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join their team. This is a hands-on role maintaining and repairing heavy fixed/mobile plant, machinery and transport fleet equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance
- Service transport fleet including trailers, dollies and end tippers
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults
- Complete overhauls, repairs, installations and equipment relocations
- Conduct daily safety and maintenance checks, including lockout/tagout
- Assist with construction, maintenance and continuous improvement projects
- Train and support apprentices and labourers
- Manage contractors and report equipment issues to management
- Maintain safe, clean and organised work areas
- Operate heavy machinery safely and in accordance with legislation
What We’re Looking For
- Relevant Trade Qualification – Cert III/IV or higher
- Heavy plant experience within metal, manufacturing or mining
- Experience with fixed/mobile plant and transport fleet
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fault-finding skills
- Pump maintenance experience
- High Risk Work Licences
- Strong WHS knowledge, communication and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
