Qualifications & experience

Certificate III or IV in Disability desirable and/or related qualification.

All qualifications and certifications listed in this section are required for this position.

Disability work experience (minimum 6 months) or evidence that you are working towards certificate.

Both paid and volunteer disability work experience will count towards the 6-month minimum requirement.

Experience in SIL supports

Experience in Positive Behavior Support

Certificate of NDIS worker Orientation Module

Required certificates may be considered on a case-by-case basis for obtaining after hiring.

Assist clients with medication certificate - Essential

Diabetes Management Certificate - NADC

Certificate of Infection Control Certificate

Current First AID and CPR certificate

Working with Vulnerable People Check with NDIS Endorsement

Valid Driver's License with access to insured vehicle

Covid-19 Digital Vaccination Certificate or Immunization Statement

Strong cultural awareness is mandatory

Excellent communication skills

Candidates with any work authorisation status are acceptable for this role.

Additional Qualifications or Industry experience

Experience in Mental Health

Experience in Epilepsy Management

Experience in seizures Management

Experience in Manual Handling

Tasks & responsibilities

This is hands-on, person-centered role which includes working to promote independence, inclusion, and a strengths-based approach to developing skills and abilities and accessing the community. You will be providing positive, respectful, dedicated, assistance with activities of daily living and domestic activities, Community participation, skill building etc.

Work within the NDIS Code of Conduct

Providing supported Independent Living

Work in accordance with care plans and NDIS goals

Work in accordance with all Elite Disability Care policies and procedures.

Contribute to maintaining as effective and productive team.

Assisting in the development of independence, leading to increased choice and control.

Maintain professional relationships with Participants and with their families and stakeholders.

Update Participant's case/progress notes and documents as required.
