Operations Officer

Reporting to the Senior Operations Officer, the Operations Officer is responsible for coordinating and executing day to day poultry production activities across the Riverlands operation.

In this role, you will support production, welfare, biosecurity and operational objectives through effective coordination of production systems, daily activities, standards and workforce capability.

You will act as an operational leader within the Riverlands team, providing technical guidance, supporting training and onboarding, and helping ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with established standards.

You will be someone who:

Has demonstrated experience in commercial poultry production operations.

Understands poultry production systems and animal husbandry principles.

Can coordinate operational activities and guide others without formal authority.

Communicates clearly and builds productive working relationships.

Is safety focused, organised and committed to maintaining strong operational standards

Key responsibilities

Coordinate daily poultry production activities, including placements, thinning, pick-up and turnaround activities

Monitor shed conditions, bird performance, welfare indicators and biosecurity requirements

Lead operational activities and support work allocation under direction

Maintain accurate operational records and support compliance, audit and safety requirements

Raise maintenance requests, support minor maintenance tasks and use relevant operational systems

Support onboarding, coaching, competency development, roster coverage and continuous improvement initiatives

Experience, skills and requirements

Current driver’s licence

Experience coordinating activities in an agricultural, livestock or production environment, desirable

Experience supporting training, onboarding or development of team members, desirable

Ability to identify and escalate production, welfare, biosecurity and safety risks

Sound problem-solving, planning and prioritisation skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant poultry production systems, including SKOV, desirable

Current unrestricted legal right to work in Australia and be willing to undertake National Criminal History Check
