About the role
We are seeking an Industrial Electrician who has worked with PLCs (troubleshooting and online changes) to join a dynamic maintenance team on a Monday to Friday afternoon shift roster in Melbourne's south-east.
This role is ideal for someone with:
Strong PLC / automation troubleshooting capability
Solid electrical fault-finding
Good mechanical aptitude (or dual trade background)
Experience in FMCG manufacturing, especially high-speed packaging equipment
You’ll be involved in breakdowns, preventative maintenance, reliability improvements, and supporting maintenance projects to keep production running safely and efficiently.
Shift hours
2:00pm-10pm, Monday to Friday
Key responsibilities
Electrical fault-finding and repairs across production and packaging equipment
Troubleshooting PLCs and diagnosing faults in industrial control systems
Programming / configuring drives, scanners and electronic control modules
Preventative maintenance and equipment audits
Mechanical maintenance on rollers, belts, VSDs
Supporting root cause analysis to reduce downtime, waste, and repeat failures
Identifying and contributing to equipment and process improvement opportunities
Assisting with maintenance improvement projects and upgrades
Maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and workmanship
What we’re looking for
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A-Grade Electrical Licence
Experience as an Industrial Electrician in Automation/controls.
Strong experience in FMCG / food manufacturing environments (highly desirable)
Hands-on exposure to high-speed packaging equipment (desirable)
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
A proactive mindset with a focus on reliability and continuous improvement
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Pay & benefits
$55/hour + 15% loading for afternoon shifts + Super + OT (plenty of overtime available).
Salary equivalent: $125,000k + Super, OTE is $150,000 +
