With Avani Mooloolaba Beach Hotel now open we are seeking an experienced and passionate Conference & Events Manager to lead both the sales and operational delivery of our meetings, conferences, events, and special occasions.

This is a unique opportunity for a commercially minded hospitality professional who enjoys building client relationships, securing new business, and delivering exceptional events from enquiry through to execution.

Working closely with hotel leadership, you will be responsible for growing the conference and events segment, managing client relationships, conducting site inspections, coordinating event delivery, and ensuring every event exceeds expectations. From corporate meetings and conferences to social celebrations and private functions, you will play a key role in shaping the hotel's success and reputation within the Sunshine Coast market.

As part of a newly opened hotel, this is a fantastic opportunity to establish processes, build market presence, and help drive the growth of one of the region's most exciting hospitality destinations.

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in Conference & Events, Hotel Sales, or Hospitality Operations

Strong sales and business development skills, with a track record of securing new business

Experience managing events from enquiry through to execution

Exceptional communication, networking, and relationship building skills

Strong organisational and time management capabilities

A genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest and client experiences

Commercially minded with an understanding of revenue generation and profitability

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment

A hands on approach with a willingness to be present during events and service delivery

Key Responsibilities

Drive conference, events, group, and social event sales across the hotel

Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, local businesses, and event planners

Conduct venue showrounds and site inspections to convert enquiries into confirmed business

Manage the complete event journey from enquiry, quoting, contracting, and planning through to execution

Collaborate with Food & Beverage, Kitchen, and Operations teams to deliver seamless events

Develop and implement sales strategies to grow conference and events revenue

Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and business opportunities

Asssit in preparing proposals, function sheets, forecasts, and reporting

Ensure exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction across all events

Identify opportunities to maximise revenue through upselling and package development

Support hotel wide initiatives and contribute to the overall commercial success of the property
