About the Company
At Cirql, we don't focus on industry specifics - our core specialisation is partnering with middle-market organisations that are experiencing change. This client is the perfect example of that - an established and high-growth healthcare organisation proactively structuring its corporate systems, processes, and capability for the next wave of expansion.
This leading healthcare provider is dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centric clinical and community health services. Operating across a diverse network of medical facilities, allied health programs, and specialised patient care sectors, the organisation empowers individuals and families to achieve better health and wellbeing outcomes. Guided by a strong commitment to clinical excellence, transparency, and operational accountability, they foster an innovative, supportive workplace culture where continuous improvement and diverse perspectives drive meaningful community impact.
The Opportunity
To sustain its significant and ongoing community impact, the organisation is investing in its finance capabilities to ensure ongoing internal collaboration and sustained community impact. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this 12-month contract offers a fast-paced, and well supported environment for an adaptable finance professional. You will manage a high volume of decentralized invoices and oversee an extensive corporate card program.
Stepping into this critical role as the organisation enters a new financial year, you will break down traditional silos between Financial Accountants and Business Partners. With a comprehensive handover and ongoing support from the transitioning incumbent, you have a unique runway to establish a cohesive, solutions-driven team culture
What You'll Do
Stepping into this dynamic environment, you will assume operational ownership of Melbourne City Mission’s transactional finance function, driving collaboration across accounts payable and receivable. You will act as a critical anchor during the busy year-end audit period, ensuring internal and external stakeholders remain seamlessly aligned while modernizing outdated, decentralized workflows.
Motivate a combined AP/AR team, you will serve as the primary escalation point to resolve billing and transactional queries.
Oversee financial controls by reviewing vendor payment batches and managing the full lifecycle of corporate credit cards.
Drive continuous improvement across decentralized spend workflows, authoring comprehensive job aids and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Perform complex reconciliations and deliver targeted analysis on aged balances to the Finance Manager to optimize working capital.
What You'll Bring
To excel in this busy and evolving role, you must be a highly proactive, solutions-oriented professional who thrives on leading through organizational change. You bring a "safe pair of hands" approach to operational finance, possessing the natural curiosity to challenge the status quo and the interpersonal finesse required to navigate a diverse stakeholder network.
Proven Transactions Expertise: Significant hands-on experience in high-volume operations, expertly navigating both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
Nurturing Leadership: Demonstrated capability to manage, upskill, and empower small teams, guiding them through organizational unison with empathy.
Communication Excellence: Strong written and verbal communication skills to develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships.
Technical & Compliance Readiness: Proficiency in computerized accounting software (Dynamics 365 is a plus) and willingness to complete a mandatory Working with Children Check.
Not sure if you meet these requirements? Please apply - we are happy to discuss your individual circumstances.
