IT Infrastructure Lead

Build, secure and lead the infrastructure that keeps our business running.

We're looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Lead to take ownership of our enterprise infrastructure environment, ensuring our networks, servers, cloud platforms and cybersecurity capabilities remain secure, resilient and highly available.

This is a genuine technical leadership role where you'll remain hands-on while driving infrastructure strategy, automation, security improvements and operational excellence.

About the Role

Reporting to the National Information Systems Manager, you'll be responsible for the performance, security and continuous improvement of the organisation's infrastructure environment.

You'll lead the design, implementation and support of enterprise infrastructure while working closely with architecture, operations and business stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable and scalable technology platforms.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with hands-on technical work.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day management of enterprise infrastructure across servers, networks and cloud platforms.

Maintain and optimise Cisco networking environments, including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi and firewalls.

Drive cybersecurity initiatives across infrastructure, endpoint protection and vulnerability management.

Manage Windows Server, Linux and virtualised environments including VMware and Hyper-V.

Oversee infrastructure monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning and system availability.

Manage patching, automation and infrastructure lifecycle activities.

Develop and maintain backup, disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities.

Lead technical troubleshooting and major incident resolution.

Manage technology vendors, procurement and service providers.

Collaborate with architecture and operational teams to deliver business-critical technology initiatives.

About You

You'll be an experienced infrastructure professional who enjoys ownership and accountability while remaining close to the technology.

You'll bring:

Proven experience leading enterprise infrastructure environments.

Strong Cisco networking expertise across routing, switching, firewalls and wireless.

Hands-on experience with Windows Server, VMware and Hyper-V.

Experience supporting Linux environments.

Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and hybrid environments.

Experience implementing cybersecurity technologies such as CrowdStrike, Mimecast, Proofpoint or Microsoft Defender.

Knowledge of vulnerability management, patching and infrastructure security.

Excellent troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder management skills.

A proactive mindset with a passion for automation and continuous improvement.
