Sheet Metal Worker
Full-Time Permanent Opportunity
Due to continued growth and expansion within our manufacturing team my client is seeking a skilled and motivated Sheet Metal Worker ideally with CNC machining experience to join their workshop team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on tradesperson with strong sheet metal fabrication experience who enjoys a varied role combining CNC operation, fabrication, and TIG welding.
About the Role
Working within a busy workshop environment, you will be involved in the manufacture and assembly of high-quality sheet metal products, working with a range of materials including stainless steel, aluminium, copper, and zinc.
We are looking for someone who is practical, versatile, and capable of "putting things together" with a strong eye for detail and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
TIG weld stainless steel and light-gauge aluminium components
Perform manual laser cutting and general sheet metal fabrication tasks
Carry out precision sheet metal work using delicate non-ferrous materials
Read drawings and assemble fabricated products to specification
Run automated and overnight production jobs
Operate and set up CNC bending, laser cutting, and turret punch machines
Maintain a high standard of quality, safety, and productivity
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Cert III Trade Certificate
Strong TIG welding skills, particularly with stainless steel and light aluminium
Experience as a Sheet Metal Worker, Fabricator, CNC Operator, or similar
Experience operating CNC press brakes, lasers, or turret punch machines
Ability to work with thin gauge and precision sheet metal materials
Good fabrication and assembly skills
A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Formal tickets or qualifications are less important than demonstrated experience and capability.
