This is an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join a well established client side project management consultancy with a strong reputation across Newcastle and the Hunter.

The business works across a diverse portfolio of commercial, residential, industrial, education and remediation projects, working closely with leading developers, organisations, consultants and contractors. Their project portfolio includes major developments, commercial buildings, residential projects and complex remediation works across the region.

You will initially take ownership of building remediation projects, working directly with clients, consultants and contractors to manage projects from planning through to delivery. You will also have the opportunity to support experienced Project Managers across a broader range of projects, giving you exposure to different sectors and project stages.

Most importantly, this role is designed for someone who wants to take the next step in their career. The goal is for the successful candidate to progress into a Senior Project Manager position within 12 months, based on performance and capability.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

Managing building remediation projects from planning through to completion

Acting as the client representative throughout the project lifecycle

Managing consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders

Overseeing budgets, programmes, procurement and project documentation

Managing project risks, variations, contracts and delivery issues

Supporting senior PMs across a diverse portfolio of projects

Providing clear commercial and project advice to clients

Building strong relationships with clients and project teams

The consultancy has particular expertise in remediation management, project management, design management, approvals, procurement, construction superintendency and defects management. Its remediation work spans both building remediation and larger rehabilitation projects.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who is ready to take greater ownership of projects and progress towards Senior PM.

Ideally, you will have:

Proven experience managing construction or property projects

Building remediation experience is highly desirable

Strong understanding of the client side project management process

Experience managing consultants, contractors and stakeholders

Strong commercial and contractual awareness

Excellent communication and relationship management skills

The confidence to take ownership and make decisions

A genuine desire to progress into a Senior Project Manager role

You don't need to have spent your entire career on the client side. A strong Project Manager from a construction, consultancy or development background with the right attitude and relevant project experience will be considered.
