Safety Advisor - Civil Construction & Defence Projects | Permanent | Darwin, NT

Join a great company at the forefront of major construction and mining-related infrastructure projects across the Northern Territory. We're looking for an experienced Safety Advisor who's ready to make a genuine impact - shaping the safety culture across high-profile civil construction projects, including work on defence sites.

This is more than a compliance role. You'll be the trusted safety voice on-site, working shoulder-to-shoulder with project managers and supervisors to keep crews safe and projects moving.

The Role

Permanent, full-time position

Based in Darwin, NT

Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm

What You'll Be Doing

Develop, implement and monitor health and safety policies and procedures aligned to WHS legislation and company standards

Lead site inspections and audits, identifying hazards before they become incidents

Deliver safety training and induction programs for employees and subcontractors

Investigate incidents and near misses, and drive corrective actions that stick

Partner with project managers and site supervisors to build a genuine culture of safety

Maintain safety performance metrics and compliance documentation

Prepare and review Risk Assessments & SWMS

What You'll Bring

Minimum 2 years' experience as a Safety Advisor in civil construction

Certificate IV in WHS (or equivalent)

Strong working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and codes of practice

Demonstrated experience in safety audits, risk assessments and incident investigations

Confident with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Excellent stakeholder communication and influencing skills

Current driver's licence and willingness to travel between sites

Ability to pass a police check; eligibility to obtain a defence security clearance

Nice to Have

Experience supporting ISO certification audits

Familiarity with Hammertech and/or Skytrust

Prior experience on defence or high-security projects
