The City of Prospect is a vibrant inner metropolitan Council with a community known for its tree lined streets, creative culture, and welcoming neighbourhoods. Community amenity includes parks, playgrounds, community buildings and an efficient network of roads, footpaths and stormwater. Significant projects are planned, including Prospect Lifestyle Precinct, major street and park upgrades, stormwater systems and new sporting facilities.
With a key role in the City Works and Presentation Department, the Senior Project Manager has responsibility for the effective project management of diverse new and existing assets including civil infrastructure, council buildings and open space. The position will provide professional leadership and “end to end” project management including investigation, design, planning, contractor management and budget.
Key responsibilities will include: -
· Providing leadership delivering all civil and asset projects
· Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
· Procurement, contractor management and compliance
· Effective and timely community engagement
· Prepare and deliver annual budgets and project cost management
· Provide high level advice and reporting across all civil and asset projects
· Assist with the development of improved civil and asset systems and frameworks.
Proven experience in project management of civil infrastructure and assets in local government or similar sector is essential. Experience in design standards, contractor management, cost estimation and compliance is also essential supported by tertiary qualifications in engineering or related field. Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, time management and decision-making skills are critical.
Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to others is essential combined with excellent written and verbal communication. This is a significant opportunity to display your broad based civil and asset project management skills delivering diverse projects across the City of Prospect.
