Nationwide Waste Solutions is growing, and we’re looking for a capable, people-focused leader to step into a key role supporting our Customer Service team.
Based in Croydon South, this full-time Monday to Friday position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing team leadership, problem-solving and operational support.
This role reports to the Customer Service Supervisor and Customer Service/Administration Manager and acts as the key link between frontline Customer Service staff and senior management, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the team.
You’ll be someone the team can rely on — calm under pressure, approachable, and confident in making decisions when it counts.
Industry experience is not essential — we’re looking for the right person with the right mindset.
What you’ll be doing
Leading, mentoring and supporting a small team of Customer Service professionals
Managing daily workflow, workload distribution and team priorities
Acting as the first point of escalation for complex customer and internal issues
Jumping in to support phones, cases and tasks during peak periods or staff leave
Monitoring case quality, response times and overall customer outcomes
Assisting sales and internal teams with urgent requests (orders, updates, quotes, issue resolution)
Maintaining system accuracy (data quality, schedules, process consistency)
Assisting with reporting, KPIs and operational tracking
Supporting onboarding, training and development of team members
Helping manage team rostering, leave and day-to-day coordination
Working closely with management to support business goals and growth
What we’re looking for
Previous experience as a supervisor or in a people management role
A natural mentor who enjoys coaching and developing people
Strong problem-solving skills and confidence in handling escalations
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
A hands-on attitude — willing to jump in and support wherever needed
Experience in customer service, administration or operations environments
Comfortable learning systems and improving processes
