ABOUT THE ROLE

Title: Senior Payroll Officer
Location: Surrey Hills, VIC or Hobart CBD, TAS
Salary: $95,000 per annum (up to $105,000 with demonstrated experienced) plus super and salary packaging

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services within our national, complex organisation. This role plays a critical part in ensuring 1,200 employees are paid correctly and in line with industrial instruments (SCHADS), legislation, and organisational policies.

You will be joining a small and collaborative payroll team, playing as a key contributor to the smooth operation of payroll processes, providing responsive and customer-focused support to employees and leaders, while supporting continuous improvement across payroll systems, controls and data quality.

Skills and experience required to be successful in this role:

Essential:

  • Experience in end-to-end payroll processing in a medium to large or complex organisation
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, awards (SCHADS desirable), enterprise agreements and payroll compliance requirements
  • Experience interpreting industrial instruments and applying pay rules accurately
  • Proficiency with payroll systems and HRIS platforms (TechnologyOne, Carelink is desirable), with applicable Excel skills
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment and respond to competing priorities
  • Qualifications required Certificate IV in Payroll Administration, Business, HR or related discipline (desirable)
  • Understanding of the disability sector or health sector and NDIS, including legislation, rules and state requirements (desirable)
