Happy Haven OSHC is a South Australian-owned and operated company managing 40 OSHC services across the state. We are an Approved Provider with an expert team capable of running outstanding OSHC programs on school sites.

About the role:

Strategic Leadership

Lead the HR team in the delivery of the Human Resources Strategic Plan.

Translate strategic priorities into operational outcomes and improvements.

Report on performance, new initiatives and organisational risks.

Identify opportunities for and lead change and continuous improvement initiatives.

Promote cross-unit collaboration for the achievement of strategic plan outcomes across all business units.

People and Culture

Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and innovation.

Ensure effective and efficient systems for employee on-boarding, off-boarding and change of roles.

Ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities among employees, along with driving the implementation of systems to provide feedback on performance, improvements required and aspirational goals.

Provide leadership to employees by setting standards in the promotion Our Why.

Quality, Compliance and Risk

Ensure voluntary compliance with legislative, regulatory and contractual requirements.

Support the company to achieve high levels of employee satisfaction and retention.

Protect procedural fairness for employees involved in HR processes while keeping child safety and wellbeing as the paramount consideration.

Oversee the maintenance of policies, procedures and systems.

Stakeholder Engagement

Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.

Protect and enhance the organisation's reputation through effective stakeholder engagement.

Provide coaching and guidance to employees on effective management of Industrial and Employee Relation matters.

Governance

Contribute ethically and effectively as a Business Unit Lead.

Support informed decision-making through accurate reporting and operational insight.

Strengthen organisational capability through effective knowledge management.

Requirements:

Demonstrated experience in HR management or similar leadership role.

Sound knowledge of relevant state and federal government legal compliance requirements relating to the Children's Services Award 2010.

A good knowledge and understanding of the laws and regulations governing Human Resources in Australia, and South Australia.

Computer literacy with digital systems/tools, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Experience with HR systems and data management tools for record-keeping and reporting purposes.

The ability to establish consistent contractual arrangements and performance standards that adhere to the values of Happy Haven OSHC.

Prior experience supporting change and organisational development initiatives.

Basic understanding of performance management processes, including supporting performance improvement plans and evaluations.

Experience in writing, updating and maintaining procedures, protocols and guides.

Strong ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.

Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities effectively, ensuring timely completion of all responsibilities.

Proficiency in empathetic and professional communication, both verbally and in writing.

Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.

Ability to work well with others and contribute to team efforts.

Skill in developing and maintaining work relationships both internally and externally.

A Tertiary Qualification in HR, Management, Business or another related field (desirable).

Hold or willing to obtain a valid Working with Children Check (required)

Hold or willing to obtain a valid National Police Check (required)

Hold or be willing to obtain Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RHHAN-EC) masterclass certificate (required)

Hold or be willing to obtain National Child Safety Training certificate (required)
