You’ll love this role if you're ready to step off the tools but still want your trade knowledge to matter.

If you’ve worked as a carpenter, plumber, electrician, painter or plasterer, you already know how homes go together and what it takes to fix them properly. This role lets you use that knowledge every day, just without the physical wear and tear.

From the office, you’ll gather and review assessments, quotes, and specialist reports from our service providers, and determine what needs repair, what can be restored, and what should be replaced. Some decisions are straightforward. Others require critical thinking when the home damage isn’t obvious or the information isn’t perfect.

Most days are spent reviewing information across multiple systems, documenting decisions clearly and working with repairers to keep jobs moving. As the primary point of contact, you’ll also speak directly with customers when needed, explaining outcomes and helping them understand what happens next.

It’s full-time, Monday to Friday. No site travel. No weather delays. Just structured, desk-based work where your trade experience still does the heavy lifting.

What you’ll be doing

  • Assess home damage from photos, reports and builder quotes, deciding what needs repair or replacement based on the evidence available.
  • Estimate repair costs and select appropriate repair methods using your building knowledge and policy guidelines.
  • Use multiple systems throughout the day to review information, record decisions and keep claims progressing without delays.
  • Work closely with repairers to confirm scopes, challenge inconsistencies and keep repairs safe and fair.
  • Speak with customers when required, explaining decisions clearly and managing expectations when outcomes aren’t straightforward.
  • Manage a portfolio of assessments, prioritising work so jobs don’t stall or fall behind.

What great looks like

  • Utilise your trade qualifications to make repair decisions confidently and correctly from the desk.
  • Connect details across photos, reports and quotes to make fair repair decisions, even when information is incomplete.
  • Documentation is clear and accurate, so others can follow your reasoning without needing to rework decisions.
  • Keep work moving by staying organised and prioritising tasks when volumes increase.
  • Work with repairers and teammates to resolve issues instead of passing them on.
  • Customers understand what happens next because your explanations are clear and practical.

What you’ll get

  • Clear pay and time off you can plan around: annual salary reviews plus 22 days annual leave.
  • A culture you can feel: regular team connection, recognition and events that keep you part of the bigger picture.
  • Leaders who back your growth: paid training from Day 1, followed by clear direction and regular coaching as you build confidence.
  • Practical benefits that support you day-to-day: free skin checks, flu jabs, wellbeing sessions, discounted gym access and discounted Youi insurance.
  • Work that has real purpose: helping customers get back on track when life doesn’t go to plan.
