Are you the type of engineer who enjoys getting hands-on with technology in the field rather than sitting behind a desk all day?
We're seeking a Validation & Verification Engineer to join a global team developing and deploying autonomous and technology-enabled solutions for the mining industry. This role combines system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and field validation of complex hardware and software systems operating on large-scale mining equipment.
Based in Perth, you'll split your time between the office and mine sites across Australia, working directly with cutting-edge technology being deployed in operational mining environments.
What you'll be doing
- Develop and execute test plans for new software releases and product enhancements
- Integrate and deploy hardware and software systems into operational environments
- Conduct hands-on testing of mining technology and autonomous systems on machine
- Investigate and troubleshoot hardware, software, networking and communications issues
- Capture and analyse system data to identify defects and recommend corrective actions
- Work closely with software, systems and product engineering teams to validate releases
- Support customer demonstrations, site trials and training activities
- Document test results, defects, findings and recommendations
- Contribute to future product improvements and system requirements
You'll likely come from a background in systems testing, integration, field engineering, validation, commissioning or technical support within industrial, mining, defence, transport, automation or heavy equipment environments.
Experience in some of the following would be advantageous:
- Validation, verification, integration or commissioning of complex systems
- Embedded, industrial or operational technology environments
- Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or real-world system testing
- Networking, radio communications or wireless technologies
- Troubleshooting hardware, software and communications issues
- Data analysis and diagnostic tools
- Autonomous systems, mining technology or mobile equipment
- Python, scripting, engineering tools or software development environments

Essential Requirements
- Engineering, Computer Science or related technical qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years' relevant industry experience
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to travel regularly to mine sites (approximately 50%)
