About the role
Our club is seeking a passionate and experienced Rhythmic Gymnastics Coach to join our team at our Hoppers Crossing facility in Victoria. This is a casual position that offers flexibility and the opportunity to work with athletes of varying skill levels. As a Rhythmic Gymnastics Coach, you will play a vital role in developing the technical abilities, artistic expression, and competitive spirit of our gymnasts. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality coaching that inspires athletes to achieve their personal best whilst maintaining a safe and inclusive training environment.
What you'll be doing
Plan and deliver structured rhythmic gymnastics training sessions tailored to different age groups and skill levels
Teach fundamental and advanced techniques in apparatus work, including rope, hoop, ball, clubs, and ribbon
Develop individualised training programmes to help athletes progress and reach their competitive goals
Provide constructive feedback and coaching cues to improve technique, performance, and confidence
Assess athlete development and track progress through regular evaluations
Ensure all training sessions adhere to safety standards and best practice guidelines in rhythmic gymnastics
Prepare athletes for competitions and performance events as required
Maintain a positive, supportive coaching environment that promotes teamwork and personal growth
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding athlete progress and development
Contribute to the overall success and reputation of the coaching programme
What we're looking for
Current or recent experience coaching rhythmic gymnastics at recreational, developmental, or competitive levels
Strong technical knowledge of rhythmic gymnastics techniques, apparatus handling, and performance elements
Relevant coaching qualifications or certifications in rhythmic gymnastics (or equivalent experience)
Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one prior to commencement)
Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage athletes of all ages
Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and motivating training environment
Strong organisational and planning skills
Passion for rhythmic gymnastics and commitment to athlete development
Experience in competitive rhythmic gymnastics is highly desirable
Understanding of athlete welfare, safeguarding, and duty of care principles
