Auditor (1–2 Years' Experience)
Launch Your Audit Career with Galpins
Develop faster. Gain real responsibility earlier. Learn directly from experienced audit professionals.
At Galpins, we believe the best way to develop great auditors is by giving them meaningful opportunities from day one.
As a proudly South Australian-owned and operated firm with offices in Norwood, Stirling and Mount Gambier, we're large enough to offer diverse and challenging work, while remaining small enough that you'll never be just another graduate.
Our Audit Division is led by three Audit Partners and supported by experienced managers and senior auditors who are genuinely invested in helping you succeed. Rather than working through layers of hierarchy, you'll work closely with senior team members, receive regular mentoring and feedback, and be given opportunities to develop both your technical expertise and professional confidence.
Why Choose Galpins?
This role is designed to accelerate your development.
From early in your career, you'll:
Work directly with Audit Partners, Managers and experienced auditors on a wide range of engagements.
Gain meaningful client-facing experience much earlier than is typical in larger firms.
Build confidence by communicating directly with clients and developing trusted professional relationships.
Develop strong technical audit and financial reporting skills through hands-on experience and ongoing coaching.
Strengthen your soft skills, including communication, problem-solving, critical thinking and professional judgement.
Take on increasing responsibility as your experience grows, with support from an experienced team every step of the way.
Our culture is collaborative, supportive and down-to-earth. We enjoy what we do, value a sense of humour, and work hard together to deliver quality outcomes for our clients.
The Opportunity
We're seeking an Auditor with approximately 1–2 years' experience to join our Audit team in our Norwood office.
This is a permanent position. Our preference is for the successful applicant to work full-time (five days per week), although flexible or part-time arrangements may be considered for the right candidate.
Reporting to an Audit Manager, you'll be involved in all stages of the audit process, including:
Assisting with audit planning and risk assessment
Performing audit testing and fieldwork
Communicating directly with clients throughout engagements
Preparing audit workpapers and deliverables
Preparing financial statements for smaller clients
Working collaboratively with senior team members to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Following your initial training period, you'll regularly attend client premises across metropolitan and regional South Australia. You'll quickly develop the confidence to manage client interactions independently, with ongoing support and review from experienced colleagues. Some overnight travel and occasional after-hours work may be required.
About You
You'll ideally have:
An accounting degree (undergraduate or postgraduate)
Approximately 1–2 years' experience in audit or public practice
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A proactive approach and willingness to learn
The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team
A current driver's licence and access to a vehicle
A commitment to completing (or commencing) your CA ANZ or CPA qualification.
We welcome applications from both domestic and international candidates with appropriate Australian work rights.
