Hawk Geo Pty Ltd is a Leading geotechnical and construction materials testing company servicing the Sydney, Central Coast and Hunter regions.

We are currently looking for a reliable and motivated Casual Laboratory Technician to join our team at our Boolaroo laboratory.

No previous experience is required. Full training will be provided.

This is a casual position, with the opportunity for a full-time traineeship for the right candidate.

About the Role

You will be trained to carry out a range of geotechnical and construction materials laboratory testing.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

Preparing and testing soil and construction material samples

General laboratory duties

Recording and entering test results

Maintaining a clean and organised work area

Assisting other laboratory staff as required

As your skills and experience develop, you may also have the opportunity to gain exposure to:

Field density testing

Construction site testing and sampling

Soil and materials sampling

This is a hands-on and physically active role that would suit someone who enjoys practical work and wants to learn new skills.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful, you will need:

A current Australian driver's licence

Reliable transport to and from our Boolaroo laboratory

Availability to work Monday to Friday between 7:00am and 5:00pm

The ability to repetitively lift up to 20 to 30 kg

A practical and logical approach to problem solving

Basic computer skills

A strong work ethic

Good communication skills

The ability to work well in a team

Reliability and punctuality

Previous experience in geotechnical testing, laboratories, construction or a similar industry is an advantage, but not essential.

We are looking for someone who is willing to learn, works hard and can be relied upon to turn up each day ready to work.
