Mental Health Clinician | Experienced | Ascot Vale
Family Allied Health | Therapy Kitchen by Family Dietetics
Part-time or Full-time | Ascot Vale
About the Role
Family Allied Health is looking for an experienced Mental Health Clinician to join our multidisciplinary team at Therapy Kitchen Ascot Vale.
We're deliberately keeping this position broad.
You might be a Psychologist, Counsellor, Play Therapist, Art Therapist or another appropriately qualified mental health professional whose experience and professional approach align with the people and families we support.
Rather than recruiting to a narrowly defined caseload, we're interested in finding an experienced clinician who brings an area of genuine clinical interest and expertise and wants the opportunity to continue developing it within a multidisciplinary environment.
What Could Your Passion Area Be?
Your area of interest might include:
Eating disorders, ARFID or body image
Anxiety, mood or other mental health conditions
Neurodivergence and mental health
Adolescence and emerging adulthood
Significant life transitions and adjustment
Disability, chronic health conditions or changing capacity
Emotional regulation and participation
Identity, self-esteem and self-advocacy
Trauma-informed care
Parent, caregiver or family support.
Or you may bring an area of expertise we haven't listed that complements the needs of the people accessing our services.
We'd like to hear about it.
We're less interested in prescribing exactly what your caseload should look like and more interested in finding an excellent clinician whose expertise can add something meaningful to our team.
About Family Allied Health
Family Allied Health is the multidisciplinary allied health arm of Family Dietetics, an established provider of nutrition, feeding and multidisciplinary care.
Our clinicians work from our Therapy Kitchens — purpose-built environments designed to support practical, person-centred allied health care.
Our clients and families often have needs that don't sit neatly within one professional discipline. That's why we're continuing to build a team of clinicians who bring different expertise while valuing genuinely collaborative care.
Who We're Looking For
This is an experienced clinician position.
We're looking for someone who:
Has established clinical skills within their profession
Brings a defined area of professional interest or expertise
Is comfortable working with complexity
Values evidence-informed and person-centred care
Understands professional scope and boundaries
Enjoys multidisciplinary collaboration
Brings sound clinical judgement and professional maturity
Values supervision and continued professional development
Wants to contribute their expertise rather than simply inherit a predetermined caseload.
Your qualifications, registration or professional membership requirements will depend on your discipline.
Relevant Working with Children and NDIS Worker Screening requirements will apply to the position.
Why Family Allied Health?
We're interested in clinicians who want to build something around what they do well.
You'll have the opportunity to work alongside clinicians across dietetics and allied health, develop collaborative referral relationships and contribute specialist expertise to a growing multidisciplinary service.
We offer:
Full-time or part-time employment
A dedicated CPD budget
Professional supervision and development
Multidisciplinary collaboration
Purpose-built Therapy Kitchen environments
Opportunities to further develop your area of clinical expertise
Autonomy appropriate to an experienced clinician
The opportunity to contribute to the continued development of Family Allied Health.
We take private practice seriously as a clinical career and value clinicians who see professional opportunity in doing excellent work outside traditional hospital and public health settings.
