PO3 Engineer (Traffic)

Gold Coast | 2-year contract | $67.95–$74.00/ hour + 12% Super

Our state government partner is seeking a PO3 Engineer (Traffic) to join their team in Nerang, contributing to traffic engineering and road safety initiatives across the state-controlled road network. This is a great opportunity to work on practical projects that improve road safety, traffic flow and network performance across the Gold Coast region.

About the role

• Provide technical expertise across traffic engineering, road safety and road network operations
• Investigate traffic and road safety issues and develop practical solutions
• Support the delivery of road safety programs and minor works across the region
• Provide technical advice to internal teams and stakeholders

Key responsibilities

• Investigate, analyse and review traffic and road safety issues across the state-controlled network
• Contribute to the Road Safety Minor Works program and identify value-for-money treatments
• Support project proposals for Road Safety Mass Action Plans, Safer Roads Sooner and Black Spot Programs
• Provide specialist advice on traffic investigations, safety programs, signage and line marking
• Prepare technical reports, correspondence and responses to public and Ministerial enquiries
• Communicate technical information and advice to internal and external stakeholders
• Apply relevant engineering standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements

About you

• Bachelor of Engineering, or an equivalent qualification assessed by Engineers Australia
• Experience or knowledge of traffic engineering and road safety principles will be highly regarded
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Current Class C driver's licence and Construction Industry Induction (White Card)
• Ability to work across relevant road infrastructure sites
