The Position

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Teacher - Junior Primary to deliver high-quality education, and oversee curriculum, planning and assessment of students.

The position is ongoing part-time commencing Term 1, 2027. The successful applicant must be available to work at a 0.60FTE capacity during Semester 1, increasing to 0.80FTE during Semester 2, 2027.

Duties and Responsibilities

Base teaching on best theoretical and practical knowledge and knowledge of each student's development, skills and interest.

Identify and cater for individual learner needs, collaborating with other teachers and specialists' staff in the College.

Provide an environment that promotes the cognitive, physical, emotional, social and intellectual wellbeing of all students.

Work closely with parents regarding the progress and development of their children.

Participate in the creation, development and evaluation of curriculum.

Design lesson plans and assessments that reflect a deep understanding of the content.

Stay informed regarding current trends, teaching practices and curriculum and resource developments by remaining in contact with relevant associations and other professional networks.

Role Requirements

Relevant tertiary qualifications and VIT registration is essential.

Experienced with the Reggio Emilia approach to teaching.

Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) trained - Autism focus

Experience developing modified curriculum for students with additional needs.

Up to date with current research into teaching in early years learning.

Recent experience with additional needs in an Early Years classroom.

Open to new ideas and a willingness to implement and change.

Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and the broader school community.
