Industrial Electrician – Construction & Maintenance

Select Industrial, part of the Renko Group, is seeking skilled Industrial Electricians to join our growing team delivering industrial electrical, automation and control projects across Northern Australia.

This role spans both industrial construction and ongoing maintenance work, and is suited to electricians who enjoy technically diverse project environments, hands-on problem-solving and quality workmanship. Our team works across industrial construction, switchboard and MCC installations, field installations, automation systems, commissioning and maintenance. With a strong pipeline of projects and a reputation for quality, we continue to expand our operations throughout the Northern Territory and beyond.

Your Role

As an Industrial Electrician, you will:

Install industrial electrical infrastructure including cable tray, conduit, cable support systems and power distribution

Install and terminate industrial power, control and instrumentation cabling

Install and connect motors, pumps, field devices, sensors and industrial equipment

Install, commission and maintain MCCs, switchboards, control panels and automation systems

Diagnose and repair field and switchboard electrical faults

Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, cable schedules and technical documentation

Work closely with technicians, engineers and project managers to install and commission control systems

Assist with commissioning and testing activities

Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure system reliability and efficiency

Ensure all works are completed safely and to a high standard

Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for all installation, maintenance and repair work

Essential Skills & Qualifications

Current Electrical Licence

Trade qualification in Electrical or a related field

Proven experience in industrial electrical construction and/or maintenance environments

Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics

Experience with industrial installations, cable systems and field equipment

Fault finding and troubleshooting ability across industrial electrical systems

Strong understanding of safe work practices and electrical standards

Excellent problem-solving ability and attention to detail

Ability to work independently and within a team environment

Current Driver's Licence

Must be an Australian resident or hold a current working visa

Desirable Skills

Experience in industrial automation and control systems

Familiarity with PLC and SCADA systems

Experience with VSDs, motor controls and instrumentation systems

Working at Heights, EWP, Confined Space or High Risk licences

Experience within mining, defence, water or infrastructure sectors

Instrumentation experience or qualifications highly regarded

CPR/LVR and White Card
