About the Role

BTE Electrical Tasmania is seeking a reliable and self-motivated full-time Administrator / Office Clerk to join our growing family business on the North West Coast of Tasmania. This is a permanent, full-time position where you will be the sole person in the office — the engine room of the business. Our team works out in the field, so you'll need to be someone who is genuinely comfortable owning the office environment independently, day in and day out, without relying on others around you to get things done.

Key Responsibilities

Managing incoming calls, emails, and correspondence

Scheduling and coordinating jobs and appointments

Maintaining accurate records, files, and databases

Preparing quotes, invoices, and purchase orders

Liaising with customers, suppliers, and contractors

Being the first point of contact for the business

Assisting with basic bookkeeping and accounts (desirable but not essential)

About You

Proven experience in an administrative or office support role

Genuinely self-directed — able to own your day, manage priorities, and solve problems without hand-holding

A natural initiative-taker who doesn't wait to be told what needs doing

Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail

Confident and professional communicator, both written and verbal

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Experience with accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB) is an advantage — and will be reflected in your remuneration

Prior experience in a trades or construction environment is favourably regarded

Remuneration

This role is engaged under the Clerks — Private Sector Award 2020. The pay range of $27.00 – $32.00 per hour reflects the classification level applicable to this role, with the rate offered commensurate with your demonstrated skills, experience, and accounting capability.
