The Opportunity:
Are you an experienced Payroll Officer or Bookkeeper looking for a role where you can make a real impact? Join a well-established business in Brisbane CBD offering flexibility, variety and the opportunity to grow your responsibilities over time.

This position would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership of payroll while also supporting the finance function. You'll work closely with an experienced Finance Manager who is keen to mentor (if needed) the successful candidate and provide opportunities to expand into budgeting, cash flow management and BAS preparation.

Duties:

• End-to-end weekly payroll processing.
• Payroll reconciliations including Superannuation and PAYG.
• Preparing and lodging Payroll Tax returns across three states.
• Working with awards, Payroll Tax and WorkCover requirements.
• Month-end reconciliations in Xero, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Reviewing payroll reconciliations each month.
• Reviewing coding within the accounts each month.
• Assisting with invoice reviews and recurring invoices in Xero.
• Providing backup support for BAS preparation.

About You:

• Previous experience processing end-to-end payroll (essential).
• Strong understanding of Payroll Tax, WorkCover and modern awards (essential).
• Experience completing month-end reconciliations.
• Strong working knowledge of Xero.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new systems (training will be provided on e-Payroll).
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
