Are you an experienced leader with a passion for logistics and yard operations? Our reputable transport and logistics client, a well-established provider of freight and warehousing solutions across South Australia, is seeking a motivated Yard Supervisor to oversee daily yard activities. This full-time role offers a competitive salary of $80,000 plus superannuation and a stable, rewarding career opportunity in a dynamic environment. The role starts at 7:00 AM, Monday to Friday.

About the Role:
Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, the Yard Supervisor will be a pivotal part of the team, coordinating operational activities to ensure safety, efficiency, and adherence to company standards. You will lead and support warehouse staff, manage freight procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to keep operations running smoothly within a busy transport environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate daily yard and freight operations
• Lead and guide yard and warehouse staff, fostering a safety-focused environment
• Receive, pick, pack, and dispatch freight accurately and efficiently
• Load and unload trucks using forklifts and overhead cranes
• Operate company vehicles as needed
• Ensure all activities comply with safety policies & OH&S standards
• Investigate operational issues and customer concerns
• Support process improvements to enhance efficiency
• Perform other duties aligned with your skills and experience

About You:

• Proven experience as a Senior Warehouse Operator, Leading Hand, or Yard Supervisor
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Valid Forklift Licence and High Risk Crane Licence (essential)
• HR (Heavy Rigid) Licence (essential)
• Semi-Trailer / HC Licence (essential)
• Previous experience in the transport, logistics, or warehousing industry
• Solid understanding of yard operations and freight handling
• Computer literacy and experience with management systems
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational abilities
• Committed to workplace safety and OH&S compliance
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
