The Department of Logistics and Infrastructure is seeking a Project Manager – Electrical / Mechanical to join the Infrastructure Projects – East Arnhem team. This role provides the opportunity to manage and deliver a diverse program of capital works, minor new works and repairs and maintenance projects across the East Arnhem Region.

You will play a key role in delivering electrical and mechanical building services projects that support critical government services and infrastructure in regional and remote locations.

The Role

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the endtoend delivery of electrical and mechanical construction projects, from early planning and design through to construction, commissioning and handover. Projects vary significantly in scope, value and complexity and are managed concurrently.

Working closely with client agencies, consultants and contractors, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to required quality standards, while meeting applicable legislation, codes and Australian Standards.

This role involves regular travel to remote project sites, including solo driving and charter flights, and participation in the Region’s oncall and emergency response arrangements.

About You

You are an experienced electrical or mechanical project management professional with the technical capability to manage building services projects from design through to construction and handover. You are organised, adaptable and confident working in regional and remote environments.

You will also demonstrate:

A relevant electrical or mechanical trade qualification, or equivalent technical experience

Experience managing building construction, repairs and maintenance projects

Strong contract administration, procurement and reporting skills

Well developed communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly

Sound knowledge of applicable legislation, standards and codes

A current driver’s licence or the ability to obtain one
