About the Role

The Intermediate Accountant is responsible for delivering accounting, taxation and compliance services across a diverse portfolio of clients. Working closely with the Senior Accountant and Senior Production Manager, you'll progressively develop your technical expertise and professional independence while delivering high-quality work, managing your workflow and building strong client relationships.

Ky Responsibilities

Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for a diverse range of clients and business entities.

Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, FBT Returns, TPAR Reports and other compliance obligations.

Prepare tax reconciliations, workpapers and supporting documentation.

Assist with tax planning work and implement agreed tax strategies.

Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional and responsive communication.

Manage your workflow to meet deadlines, budgets and quality standards.

Review your own work to ensure accuracy and completeness before submission for review.

Identify risks, issues and opportunities and work collaboratively with Senior Accountants and the Senior Production Manager.

Utilise Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Reportance and other business systems to deliver efficient client outcomes.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support a collaborative team environment.

Skills & Experience

Minimum of 2 years' experience in Australian public practice accounting, with the ability to independently prepare financial statements and income tax returns for a range of business entities.

Progressing towards or holding CA or CPA qualifications (preferred).

Working knowledge of Australian taxation legislation, including BAS, IAS and income tax.

Experience using Xero and Microsoft Office, with exposure to MYOB, QuickBooks or Reportance being advantageous.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.

Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive client relationships.

The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.

A proactive approach, strong organisational skills and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

A collaborative mindset and a willingness to contribute to a positive team culture.
