Poultry Farmer

A leading commercial egg production enterprise in regional New South Wales is seeking an experienced Poultry Farmer to oversee and coordinate poultry production operations within a large-scale farming environment supplying major supermarket and wholesale markets across Australia.

This is a senior operational farming role responsible for managing flock production, maintaining animal welfare standards, supervising farm operations, and ensuring efficient production outcomes across the poultry farming enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, organise, and manage poultry farming and egg production operations

Monitor flock health, nutrition, growth, and production performance

Implement and maintain biosecurity, animal welfare, and quality assurance procedures

Coordinate feeding programs, environmental controls, and production schedules

Supervise poultry farm workers and allocate daily operational duties

Monitor and maintain poultry housing systems, equipment, and farm infrastructure

Liaise with veterinarians, suppliers, and farm management regarding flock performance and disease prevention

Maintain production records, compliance documentation, and farm reports

Identify and respond to production, health, or operational issues affecting poultry performance

Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and industry standards

Skills and Experience

Minimum 3 years’ experience in commercial poultry farming or intensive livestock production

Demonstrated experience managing poultry production systems within a commercial farming environment

Strong understanding of poultry health, nutrition, biosecurity, and animal welfare practices

Experience supervising staff within an agricultural or farming operation

Ability to work autonomously and make operational decisions in a fast-paced farming environment

Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

One of the following is preferred:

Bachelor degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Poultry Science, or related field; or

At least 5 years of relevant commercial poultry farming experience in lieu of formal qualifications
