About Somerville Community Services
Somerville is a for-purpose, community-based organisation that has supported Territorians for over 60 years. We specialise in high-quality disability services that empower people to live the life they choose. As a registered NDIS provider, we deliver individualised support across the Northern Territory, with a focus on respectful, person-centred relationships that promote choice, dignity, and independence.
About the role
We’re looking for an experienced disability services leader to join Somerville as Regional Manager, Disability Services - Alice Springs.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Supported Independent Living Services, you’ll have responsibility for the overall leadership and performance of our disability accommodation services across the Alice Springs region.
You’ll lead and support a team of Independent Living Coordinators who are responsible for the day-to-day management of houses and frontline teams. As Regional Manager, you’ll provide direction, oversight and support, ensure issues are addressed effectively, and keep services focused on delivering safe, consistent and person-centred support.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands disability service delivery, can support and develop their team, and is confident managing the competing operational priorities that come with delivering 24/7 accommodation services.
What you’ll be doing
As Regional Manager, you will:
Provide strategic and operational oversight of disability accommodation services across the Alice Springs region, ensuring safe, high-quality and person-centred supports
Lead, supervise and develop Independent Living Coordinators, building capability, accountability and effective management of houses and frontline teams
Maintain oversight of service quality, safeguarding, incidents, complaints and compliance requirements across the region
Ensure services respond to participants’ individual needs, plans and goals and promote choice, dignity and independence
Oversee workforce planning to ensure staffing arrangements meet participant needs and support sustainable service delivery
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with participants, families, guardians, health professionals and other key stakeholders
Monitor service performance, budgets, and KPIs, identifying risks and driving improvement strategies
Support participant transitions, new referrals and the establishment of new services
Work collaboratively across Somerville to support consistent practice, continuous improvement and positive outcomes for participants
You’ll have the support of our Clinical Care, Quality, HR, Workforce and Finance teams, and work in partnership with an executive team that values collaboration, actively listens and respects the expertise of its leaders.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for an experienced disability services leader who can provide clear direction, develop people and maintain oversight across a busy operational environment. You’ll bring a relevant qualification in disability, community services, business management or a related field, or equivalent experience gained in the sector.
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
Demonstrated leadership experience in the disability sector, with a strong understanding of the NDIS, including the Practice Standards and quality and safeguarding requirements
Experience supporting the delivery of services for people with complex needs, including high physical and medical requirements and behaviours of concern
Experience leading and developing teams through effective supervision, coaching and performance management
Strong judgement, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage complex operational and participant-related matters
Sound understanding of budgets, staffing costs and the importance of sustainable service delivery
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with participants, families, staff and external stakeholders
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
In addition, experience embedding active support, positive behaviour support, and trauma-informed care within teams will be highly regarded.
You will also need to hold, or have the ability to obtain, an NT Working with Children Clearance, satisfactory Criminal History Check, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, NT Driver Licence, First Aid and CPR, and influenza vaccination.
