New Graduate / Early Career Dietitian | Permanent Part Time, 2 Days per Week | Redlands + Ipswich
About us
Thompson Community Dietitians started with one goal: to bring high quality dietetics to regions that have been underserviced. We provide client centered care in the truest sense - our clients are listened to, heard and understood before any advice is given, and we build relationships that last beyond a single care plan.
The role
First year / early career dietitian role split across two private practice clinics - Redlands and Ipswich - starting September 2026. Permanent part time, two clinic days per week. You'll join a supported role under a dietitian with 6+ years of complex community and clinical experience. The caseload you will take on is currently cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and weight management. This is the lower-complexity side of the business, referred mainly through GP care plans, DVA, and Private health. We provide sufficient appointment times with 45-minute initials, 30-minute reviews and promote a caseload that builds gradually.
Pay and conditions
Employed role with PAYG wages - not a contractor arrangement (no ABN, no room rent, no commission)
HPSS Award: $33.51-39.31/hr plus 12% super, (With changes inline with the awards 1 October reclassification)
Paid annual and personal leave (pro rata)
Weekly one-on-one supervision, protected and structured in paid time
Key responsibilities
Dietetic assessment, consults, reviews and follow-up of lower-complexity cases (CVD, type 2 diabetes, weight management)
Standard dietitian office duties: patient emails and care correspondence to referrers
Non-complex invoicing (POS/Eftpos machine) and rebooking/rescheduling your own clients, triaging new clients
No business development expected, you build your clinical craft first; growing the practice stays with the owner
Highly regarded
A passion for client focused care and a people-first attitude
Wanting to work in community and build lasting relationships with clients
Independence within a supported environment - weekly supervision behind you, room to run your own day
Where the role goes
As you develop as a clinician, you will be expected to take on more complex work - aged care, paediatrics, oncology, IBS - over a structured growth plan. Clinic days are consistently growing, and the aim is to keep developing clinics until this becomes a full time position. We want this to be a long term career home for our dietitians, not a stepping stone you have to survive.
You'll need
APD status
A driver's licence and your own car
To apply: send your CV with a short cover note answering two questions: What made you want to be a dietitian, and where are your clinical interest areas? We review applications as they arrive and may appoint before any closing date.
Pay: $33.51 – $39.31 per hour
