Job description
This is an exciting opportunity for an Equities Settlements Officer to join our dynamic operations team. This role will suit individuals with demonstrated experience in Equities Settlements, requiring high levels of communication, attention to detail, and adherence to risk and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and execute settlement of Equities and Stock Lending Settlements in CHESS via BofA's back office system
- Management of CHESS and stock lending settlements functions throughout the settlement day to highlight issues as they arise
- Follow up and escalate on failing or unmatched trades
- Facilitate settlement of intercompany movements
- Support reconciliation and payment of monthly Stock Lending billing statements
- Liaise with traders, confirmation team, internal and external clients
- Source and request SSI and static setup for counterparties and instruments
- Demonstrate professional and detailed communication with clients via email and phone to resolve differences in a timely manner
- Investigate and resolve nostro and cash breaks where ledgers are unmatched
- Complete daily reporting
- Reconcile and payment of Stock Lending exposure / collateral to external brokers
- Uphold controls and procedures for the team
Requirements
- Equities settlements experience preferred, especially with exposure to CHESS.
- Stock lending operations experience highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work against strict deadlines
- Be control and risk focused
- Work well in a time sensitive, fast paced and fluid environment
- Ability to identify and escalate issues to management and trading desk
- Confidence to deal with both external and internal clients
- Willingness to work flexible hours when necessary
- Ability to work in a team or independently when required
- Flexible and adaptable attitude with a hunger to learn and be challenged
- Ensure all work is done within audit, compliance and procedural requirements
