About the role

We are a family owned consulting business, that is seeking a talented and enthusiastic HSEQ ISO Consultant Trainee to join our team on a full-time basis in Perth, WA. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about health, safety, environment, and quality management systems to begin a rewarding career in occupational health and safety consulting.

As a trainee consultant, you will work alongside experienced professionals to develop comprehensive knowledge of ISO standards and HSEQ frameworks. You will support the delivery of consulting services to clients across various industries, gaining practical experience in auditing, compliance, and system implementation. This role is pivotal in building your foundation as a future HSEQ professional whilst contributing meaningfully to our clients' safety and quality objectives.

Key responsibilities

Assist experienced consultants in maintaining and improving current HSEQ / ISO certification systems across client organisations

Support the development and implementation of new health, safety, environment, and quality management systems aligned with ISO standards (such as ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001)

Conduct research on relevant legislation, regulations, and industry best practices to inform consulting recommendations

Prepare audit reports, compliance documentation, and recommendations for client review

Participate in site visits and client meetings, gathering information and observing best practice consultation techniques

Maintain and update client files, documentation, and compliance records in accordance with company standards

Contribute to the continuous improvement of consulting methodologies and processes

Support the development of consulting proposals and scope documents for new client engagements

What we're looking for

A strong academic background, ideally with Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Health Science university degree

Knowledge of or willingness to learn ISO management system standards, particularly ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications and the ability to quickly learn new software systems

Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team

A genuine commitment to promoting health, safety, and environmental excellence

Willingness to travel to client sites for audits and assessments as required

A proactive, eager-to-learn attitude with enthusiasm for professional development

Relevant HSEQ certifications or qualifications are advantageous but not essential for applicants demonstrating strong potential and commitment to the field
