EWS Group is seeking an exceptional Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our leadership team and help drive the next chapter of growth.

This is not a traditional corporate executive role.

We are looking for a builder, operator and strategic leader — someone who can create structure, drive performance, support teams and work alongside ownership to take the organisation to the next level.

The right person will combine strong business knowledge with a hands-on attitude. You must be comfortable in the boardroom discussing strategy, financial performance and growth — but equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves, working with the team and solving real operational challenges.

The Opportunity

As COO, you will become a key driver of business performance, responsible for:

• Leading day-to-day operations across the group
• Working directly with ownership on strategy and execution
• Building systems, processes and accountability structures
• Developing high-performing teams
• Improving operational efficiency and profitability
• Managing budgets, forecasting, reporting and financial performance
• Reviewing contracts, commercial agreements and business opportunities
• Driving customer relationships and strategic partnerships
• Supporting tenders, negotiations and major projects
• Strengthening compliance, governance and risk management
• Creating scalable foundations for future growth opportunities

Experience & Qualifications

Ideally you will have:

• Degree qualification in Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting or related field
• Proven experience as a COO, GM, Operations Director or senior business leader
• Strong financial understanding including budgets, forecasting and reporting
• Advanced Excel and business analysis capability
• Strong understanding of contracts and commercial negotiations
• Ability to identify risks and opportunities
• Legal and commercial awareness
• Experience leading teams through growth and change
• Ability to implement systems, procedures and accountability
• Experience in transport, logistics, construction, infrastructure or similar industries highly regarded
