Part-Time Cook – Regents Garden Scarborough

Regents Garden Group Pty Ltd, a well-established aged care provider, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Cook to join our team. This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the health and wellbeing of our residents by delivering high-quality, nutritious meals in a supportive environment.

About the Role
As a Cook, you will assist with the efficient preparation and delivery of meals for residents, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, infection control practices, and aged care regulations. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in preparing meals that meet a variety of dietary needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve meals in line with approved menus and residents’ dietary requirements

Support the daily operation of the kitchen, including delegating tasks to catering staff

Take responsibility for the kitchen in the absence of the Chef Manager

Ensure compliance with food handling, infection control, and workplace health and safety policies

Assist with food ordering, receipt of supplies, and correct storage of food items

Promote and enforce compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and codes of conduct

Respond to and report incidents in line with the Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS)

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the facility

Maintain a safe working environment for staff, residents, and visitors

What We’re Looking For:

Previous experience in food preparation and cooking for large numbers of people

TAFE Certificate in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) – preferred

Ability to work effectively in an aged care or health-related environment

Sound knowledge of food safety, infection control, and workplace health and safety practices

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Current National Police Clearance and/or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance

Up-to-date Influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations

This is a part-time position with hourly salary ranging from $30.91 to $32.61, depending on the candidate's experience.
