We're seeking a motivated and reliable Waste & Organics Operator to support the day-to-day operations of our Organic Processing Facility. Whether you're experienced in machinery operation or looking to build a career in the growing waste and sustainability sector, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills while contributing to a cleaner, greener future.

What You'll Be Doing

As a key member of our team, you'll help ensure the safe, efficient and environmentally responsible processing of organic materials by:

Operating and maintaining plant, machinery and recycling equipment in a safe and effective manner.

Managing the flow and processing of kerbside food and garden organics throughout the facility.

Conducting routine inspections, servicing and maintenance to maximise equipment performance and reliability.

Identifying and addressing operational issues while minimising contamination and improving processing outcomes.

Maintaining accurate operational, production and safety records.

Working collaboratively with supervisors and team members to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Supporting broader Waste Unit operations, including transfer stations, landfill activities and kerbside collection services when required.

Championing a strong safety culture and contributing to positive environmental outcomes for the community.

About You

You'll be someone who enjoys practical, outdoor work and takes pride in delivering quality outcomes. Ideally, you'll bring:

A current full manual driver's licence (essential)

A passion for sustainability, recycling and environmental stewardship

Experience operating agricultural equipment, plant or heavy machinery (desirable, not essential)

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently

A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in a variety of conditions

A willingness to undertake further training and obtain additional licences or certifications, such as a Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence or Loader Ticket
