Commercial Vehicle Technician (Tuas)

What You'll Be Doing

As a Commercial Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of commercial vehicles to ensure they operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Your key responsibilities include:

Perform preventive maintenance, servicing, repairs, and overhaul of commercial vehicles, including diesel trucks and heavy-duty vehicles.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic faults using specialised diagnostic equipment.

Carry out repairs on engine, transmission, braking, steering, suspension, drivetrain, and air-conditioning systems where required.

Diagnose and repair both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) commercial vehicle platforms.

Conduct vehicle inspections, identify defects, and recommend appropriate repair solutions.

Perform scheduled servicing in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company quality standards.

Use truck diagnostic software and tools to identify fault codes, perform system calibration, and verify repair effectiveness.

Test vehicles after repairs to ensure all issues have been resolved and the vehicle is safe for operation.

Complete work orders, inspection reports, and service documentation accurately and promptly.

Ensure repair work is completed within the required turnaround time while maintaining high standards of workmanship.

Report major repair requirements or unusual technical issues to the Workshop Supervisor or Team Leader.

Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices in good working condition.

Comply with all Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.

Collaborate closely with fellow technicians, service advisors, and workshop supervisors to ensure efficient daily workshop operations.

Participate in technical training programmes to stay updated with the latest truck technologies, including electric commercial vehicles.

What We're Looking For

ITE, NITEC, Higher NITEC, or Diploma in Automotive Technology, Heavy Vehicle Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience in servicing and repairing commercial vehicles or heavy-duty trucks.

Experience with Euro 4, Euro 5, and Euro 6 diesel trucks is highly preferred.

Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) platforms.

Familiarity with truck diagnostic software and electronic diagnostic tools.

Good understanding of commercial vehicle mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.

Able to read and understand basic English service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

Class 3 driving licence is an advantage.

Self-motivated, responsible, and committed to delivering quality workmanship.

Positive attitude, willing to learn new vehicle technologies, and able to work effectively in a team.

Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Alternate Saturdays: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
