About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Coordinator to join our Assets Team on a permanent full-time basis.
You will take ownership of planned and responsive maintenance across Unity's housing portfolio, ensuring our homes remain safe, compliant and well-maintained for the communities we serve.
This is a hands-on role where you'll coordinate contractors, undertake property inspections, manage maintenance programs, oversee vacancy works and contribute to long-term asset planning. You'll work closely with housing teams, tenants, contractors and key stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes, minimise vacancy timeframes and maximise value for money.
Key responsibilities include: Coordinating planned and responsive maintenance programs.
Managing contractors ensure quality, safety and compliance standards are met.
Conducting property inspections and identifying maintenance requirements.
Supporting asset planning, preventative maintenance and lifecycle programs.
Monitoring budgets, scopes of work and project expenditure.
Working collaboratively with tenants, housing teams and contractors to achieve positive outcomes.
This role will occasionally require participation in an on-call roster, with potential regional travel. Car is included.
About You
You are an experienced maintenance, construction or asset professional who enjoys balancing technical expertise with strong stakeholder relationships.
You bring:
Relevant trade qualifications and hands-on industry experience.
Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance programs.
Strong knowledge of WHS, compliance and quality standards.
Experience conducting property inspections and identifying practical solutions.
Sound understanding of maintenance budgets, quotations and cost management.
Excellent communication skills and a commitment to customer service.
The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
Most importantly, you're proactive, solution-focused and motivated by making a genuine difference in the quality of homes and communities.

Maintenance, construction or refurbishment experience -demonstrated experience coordinating maintenance activities, contractors or building projects.
Contractor management and compliance - experience monitoring contractor performance and ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with relevant standards.
Customer service and stakeholder engagement -ability to build positive relationships with tenants, contractors and internal stakeholders while delivering high-quality service.
Property inspections and technical knowledge - ability to assess property conditions, identify maintenance requirements and recommend practical solutions
Asset planning and preventative maintenance -experience planning, scheduling or delivering preventative maintenance programs.
Budget and cost management -experience managing quotations, expenditure, maintenance budgets or cost-effective service delivery.
