Electrician - Crane Technician
Port Pirie Based | Regional & Mine Site Work | Regular Adelaide Trips | Company Vehicle
Leading Crane Services (LCS) is a locally owned South Australian business specialising in the service, maintenance and repair of overhead cranes and lifting equipment.
We are looking for a qualified Electrician residing in Port Pirie or the surrounding area to join our Crane Services team.
The role will support our clients throughout Port Pirie, as well as mine sites and other customers across the surrounding region, with regular trips to Adelaide to work alongside our broader team.
If you enjoy fault finding, problem solving and hands-on technical work, this is an opportunity to use your electrical skills in a specialised and varied field.
Previous crane experience is highly regarded but not essential. If you're a capable electrician with a willingness to learn, our experienced team will support you in developing the additional skills and knowledge required.
The Role
Your work will include:
Inspecting, servicing and repairing overhead cranes and hoists
Electrical fault finding and breakdown repairs
Working with motors, control circuits, contactors, VSDs and associated equipment
Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
Preventative maintenance and safety inspections
Developing mechanical knowledge of cranes and lifting equipment
Preparing job reports and repair recommendations
Working directly with customers across Port Pirie, regional sites and mine sites
Regular travel to Adelaide to work with our wider Crane Services team
What We're Looking For
You'll need:
Australian recognised electrical trade qualification
Current A Grade Electrical Licence
Current Driver's Licence
Good electrical fault-finding skills
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
Strong commitment to safety
Good communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to travel and work overtime when required
The following would be an advantage:
Overhead crane or hoist experience
Industrial electrical experience
Mechanical aptitude
Working at Heights Certificate
EWP High Risk Work Licence
Dogging or Rigging Licence
Crane experience isn't essential. We're looking for a good electrician who is interested in broadening their skills and developing experience in a specialised area of the trade.
