About the role

This role covers all aspects of lighting design, from concept development through to construction, across a portfolio of hospitality, cultural, and infrastructure projects. The Senior / Lighting Designer will report to the Associates and Directors.

Key responsibilities

Assist in developing lighting design concepts that align with the architectural vision and client brief

Prepare lighting layouts, fixture schedules, and design documentation across project stages

Research and specify lighting fixtures and controls suited to project needs and budget

Liaise with architects, consultants, and clients to coordinate design and technical requirements

Support tender and construction documentation

Attend project meetings, site visits, and design reviews

Assist with on-site lighting focusing, testing, and commissioning as required

About you

Diploma or degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or related field

At least 5 years of relevant work experience for Senior post or 1 year for Lighting Designer

Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and skill set

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Photoshop; familiarity with SketchUp, Revit, or lighting calculation software is a plus

Strong design sensibility, good communication skills, and ability to manage multiple projects

Team player with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced studio environment
