Due to continued growth in the infrastructure, water, transport, mining, energy, defence, and industrial sectors, we are seeking experienced Coatings Inspectors / Quality Field Auditors to join our team in multiple locations across Australia.

Locations: Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Hobart opportunities.

The Opportunity

As a Coatings Inspector / Quality Field Auditor, you will undertake inspections and auditing activities on protective coating projects throughout Australia while working alongside a highly experienced team of coating consultants and inspectors.

The role offers a diverse mix of:

Site-based coating inspections

Quality assurance auditing

Surface preparation assessment

Coating application verification

Contractor surveillance

Asset condition assessments

Technical reporting

Client consultation and project support

Travel is an integral part of the role, with opportunities to work across a range of Australian industries and locations.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

Conducting inspections of abrasive blast cleaning and surface preparation activities.

Verifying coating application and compliance with project specifications.

Measuring and recording environmental conditions.

Performing coating thickness, adhesion, continuity and holiday testing.

Assessing compliance with Australian and international standards.

Preparing detailed inspection reports, site records and quality documentation.

Auditing contractors and project quality systems.

Liaising professionally with clients, contractors and asset owners.

Supporting project planning and technical advisory activities.

Assisting with condition assessments and coating failure investigations.

Contributing to business development opportunities and industry networking.

About You

You are a motivated and technically capable coatings professional who enjoys site work, problem solving and working independently.

Essential Requirements

NACE/AMPP Certified Coatings Inspector Program (CIP) Level 1, 2 or 3.

Current Construction Industry White Card.

Current Australian Driver's Licence.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to prepare professional technical reports.

Competent use of Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to travel throughout Australia.

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Highly Desirable

Experience with infrastructure, water, mining, defence or industrial projects.

ICorr, ACA, AMPP or equivalent industry qualifications.

Working at Heights certification.

Confined Space Entry certification.

First Aid qualification.

Rope access qualifications.

Protective coating application or contractor QA experience.

Experience with concrete durability assessments and remedial works.

Knowledge of AS/NZS, ISO, SSPC and AMPP standards.
